Make Your Own MySpace Layouts EASY!
If you are tired of settling for the look of your MySpace site by way of
free layouts, then listen up. Here are the instructions for creating
your own MySpace layout designs without being an experienced coder. Or
web designer.
There
IS a solution to this perplexing problem. And it won't cost one single
penny to use! And it doesn't require hours of tutorials either. If you can
operate a computer game, then you can create your own customized MySpace
Layout designs.
You
don't have to be artistic whatsoever, nor do you need to be a 'coding'
genius either. All you need is a few simple free tools and you can
generate your very own unique MySpace Layouts to set your 'space' apart
from everyone else.
Most MySpacers are stuck using premade layout designs. And that's great.
Because all the tough stuff, you know, like chugging out the CSS coding,
is all done for you. And with a few simple steps, a la copy and pasting,
you have a brand new look for your MySpace site. Leaving you with much
more time for adding content to your 'space'.
But, there are drawbacks to using such premade designs. For example,
every once in a while, the code will 'break down' on you and screw up
your entire MySpace site. And the only solution left after you spend
hours upon hours messing around with the code, is to delete it *GASP and
start over again.
While I realize that MySpace is generally a place for the younger
generation to strut their stuff, more and more of the 20 to 40
something's and up are participating within the MySpace community. And
we are in desperate search for more 'grown up' layout designs to choose
from. Which are few and far between at this stage of the MySpace
generation of users.
The most common reason for this being that the younger set has more time
on their hands to whip up all those free layouts you can use for your
MySpace site. Or, you can elect to forego all that and simply use the
default layout design. But, for those of us older cats and kittens out
there, using a more juvenile layout doesn't do much for our 'spaces'
when we're trying to be serious. Especially those of us that are trying
to highlight our business or earn money without going totally 'e-biz'
with our MySpace sites.
In addition, if you decided to take the time to learn the CSS coding,
and then additionally learn the precise MySpace coding to make things
actually look and function properly, it could carve out a huge chunk of
your life. In this fast paced world, you want things accomplished as
quickly as possible.
The best thing for you to do to alleviate future headaches is to design
your OWN MySpace Layouts and plug them in. I know, it sounds really
complicated, learning all that coding and whatnot, but I promise you,
you won't have to learn one single line of code. Honest.
Now, this may ruffle a bit of all those 'free MySpace Layout coders'
feathers out there, but too bad! Using the information inside this quick
walkthrough guide will help YOU not to suffer through all the 'junk'
stuffed inside the premade layout codes anymore. What does that mean? NO
MORE LINK-BACKS REQUIRED. And, NO MORE CODES GOING BAD ON YOU. YEAH!!
Then you can use up all your precious MySpace site area for what YOU
want to be placed there. Not what the free 'coders' want. Free site
traffic. Use that for your self and your other websites. Makes sense,
right?
Okay, so the first thing you are going to need to begin churning out
your own MySpace Layouts is a little piece of free software which you
can download directly from here: http://www.download.com/MYLT-MySpace-Layout-Tool-/3000-2068_4-10510095.html.
Once you have it completely downloaded, just install it on your
computer. Then you can begin to tinker about with it for a bit, if you
like, to make 'plain Jane, or Jim' layouts. Meaning you will need to be
connected to the internet to generate snazzy layouts with graphics and
images. For now, just toy around with the MYLT (MySpace Layout Tool) and
see what it can do.
Wasn't that fun? Sure it was! And, did you happen to notice that this
little baby pops out the code you need for you? All you have to do
afterwards is simply copy and paste it inside the appropriate area of
your MySpace profile area once you're logged in.
Obviously, there's no need for me to go into the details of this
software tool. If you've ever used any type of HTML editor or Web
Template Creation Software, then you'll easily get the 'gist' of this
tool as well.
What you may not know is that in order to use a background image for the
entire layout design, or for the table backgrounds, then you will need
to first upload your images to your own image host or web host space.
Only then will the software pick up the image you intend to use within
your layout code. This will also save you time later on getting the
images to show up properly on your MySpace site instead of getting those
nasty broken images ;-).
So, here's a simple walkthrough for using your own uploaded images for
background purposes on your layout design. . .
First, Upload Your Images To Your File Host Or Web Host Space
Second, Open (if it's not already) The MYLT Tool So You Can Begin
Generating Your Newest MySpace Layout Complete With Your Selected
Background Image(s)
Third, Finish Up Your Layout Design By Selecting Your Other Elements
Such As Table Border Style & Color, Link Style & Color, Link Hover
Specifics, Etc.
Fourth, Copy The Code To Your Computer's Clipboard And Then Paste The
Code Inside Your MySpace Profile's 'About Me' Section Inside The Text
Area (Box)
Fifth, Submit Your New Profile So It Will Be Saved And All Changes Shown
On Your MySpace Site
Sixth, Test It Out And Be Sure It Is Showing Up As You Intend It To
Seventh, Make Any Changes To Your Code Necessary So Your Layout Looks
Just As You Want It To
And that's all there is to it! You should now have a brand new MySpace
Layout to impress all your buddies with. There are more things you can
do once you have your base layout code spat out for you by the MYLT
software. Some of those things have been included for you in the next
section.
Remember too that you can use an image editor such as Photoshop to
design your own unique graphics with to tuck into your layout coding for
an even more exciting design. I have also included quite a few free
seamless backgrounds and royalty free images you can use to begin making
your layouts with. You can find those within the freeimages.zip file you
received in addition to this guide book.
There are plenty of sites that will give you extensive 'how to'
information for free through their tutorial sections about creating
MySpace Layouts. Many of them also have special MySpace generators so
you can easily create other elements you may have a need for. A few of
them are. . .

Of course you can do a search using your favorite search engine to find
more sites offering usable MySpace freebies.
Now that you have a MySpace Layout tool, there are plenty of things you
can do. One being charging for creating layouts for others that may need
some. Or simply creating non-exclusive layout designs that you are
selling. MySpacers are constantly on the hunt for new and unique layout
designs. And if the Web Designing industry has taught us anything it is
that people are willing to pay someone else to do the work for them.
MySpace Layouts are no different in this respect. So, it is possible to
create some 'toned down' layouts and earn a decent amount of profits
from selling them to others.
The most important thing to understand about doing MySpace Layout
designs is the fact that all of them are created using HTML and CSS
coding, which is not difficult to learn. Hand coding can take a
considerable amount of time, but can be worth it in the end if learning
this is your goal. But, nothing beats cutting out some of the time spent
on creating designs for your, or someone else's MySpace.
Once you know that by simply adding a <style></style> HTML tag and all
the CSS elements within it to your MySpace site to attain the look and
feel you desire, the rest is child's play.
